Japanese Cherry Blossom

Japanese Cherry Blossom by April D. Spreeman is one of the most popular Hemingway mods. The theme itself is not very different in format and layout from its predecessor, and adds only visual elements in the form of colors and graphics. What is good though is the platform that will allow one to customize Hemingway without the hassle of figuring out the how-tos. This theme is sidebar widget-ready and has the options to choose a static sidebar.

This is a beautiful theme, but according to WP, it is NOT widget-ready.

I’m trying to get the bottom sidebar widgetized. Can anyone help me do this, or point me in the right direction?

    @ Karen

First off, this theme is pre-sidebar widget plugin and uses the built-in Hemingway dynamic sidebar. Unfortunately, this
theme has a blank dynamic_sidebar.php file unlike the original Hemingway, so you are right in that it is not widget-ready in the conventional way, you are also right that this theme is not dynamic sidebar ready either!

With that said, to widgetize a theme, you need to add just 2 lines of code to the sidebar.php file and three lines to the function.php file. If you are comfortable with that, let us know via email (use contact form in about page) and we can send you more info. Alternatively, you can read the instructions on Automattic.

Ahh, I see. I was a little confused. Thanks so much for the tip!
